The Doctoral School is organized with a director and secretary, a council, a board, and a thesis commission.

DOCTORAL SCHOOL COUNCIL

The councel consist of :
- the doctoral school board
- the directors of the research departments
- the director of EOST
- the dean of the Geography Department
- the representative of the technical staff
- 3 elected representatives of the doctorates
- 5 external members

The councel meets at least once in the year to discuss the thesis funding proposition and the PhD choices.

The Unistra vice President of the Doctorate Research and Training , the representatives of the Masters associated to the doctoral school are always associated to the council.

BOARD

The board is evaluating the thesis proposed by the Research Departments. The board also evaluates the PhD candidates.
The board consists of :
Doctoral School director and vice director, the directors of the Research Departments, one representative of the EOST Master and one representative of the Geography Department Masters.

THESIS COMMISSION

The commission validates the PhD defense applications and the exemption applications. This commission is convened 4 times in the year in March, June, September and December (check for deadlines). The commission consists of the Doctoral School director and vice director, and representatives of the Research Departments, which are : Anis Younes (LHyGeS), Alain Cochard (IPGS), Laurent Schmitt (LIVE)
